Nine New Cases Of COVID In Four-County Area Sunday

Northwest Iowa — Nine more northwest Iowans have tested positive for COVID-19, according to Sunday’s report from the Iowa Department of Public Health.

Five new cases of the virus were reported in Sioux County Sunday, bringing the total there to 4664 since the pandemic began. O’Brien County reported four additional cases, taking their tally to 1751. No new cases were reported in Osceola or Lyon Counties, leaving Osceola County at a total of 655 and Lyon County  at a total of 1410.

For the first time in several days, no additional deaths were reported in the four-county area Sunday.

Of the 1410 Lyon County residents who have tested positive for COVID, 1295 have recovered, for a recovery rate of about 92%.
Of the 4664 Sioux County residents to test positive, 4429 have recovered, for a rate of about 95%.
Of the 1751 O’Brien County residents to test positive for COVID, 1611 have recovered, for a rate of about 92%.
Of the 655 Osceola County residents who have tested positive for COVID, 618 have recovered, for a recovery rate of about 94%.

The above numbers reflect the 24-hour period from noon Saturday, February 6th to noon Sunday, February 7th.
