Northwest Iowa — Wet weather slowed planting in some areas last week, but Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey, of Spirit Lake, says he’s happy with the progress so far.
Northey says some fields have to dry out before farmers can pull in the planter once again.
He says there haven’t been any planting problems he’s heard other than the weather.
Northey farms near Spirit Lake and says he still has some acres to get planted on his farm.
