Not Guilty Plea Entered In Sibley Attempted Murder Case

Sibley, Iowa — A Michigan woman who is accused of stabbing a Sibley woman multiple times in early December, has pled not guilty to charges in connection with the incident.

According to court records, 18-year-old Veronica Peckens of Lake Ann, Michigan, is accused of stabbing a Sibley female multiple times in the eyelid and attempting to cut the victim’s throat several times, at a Sibley residence.

According to online court records, Peckens entered a written plea in Osceola County Monday, pleading not guilty to charges of: Attempted Murder, a Class B Felony; Willful Injury Causing Bodily Injury, a Class D Felony; and Assault With Intent to Inflict Serious Injury, a Serious Misdemeanor.

No trial date has been set in the case.
