O’Brien County Fair Opens This Weekend In Primghar

Primghar, Iowa – The O’Brien County Fair opens this weekend at the Fairgrounds in Primghar, with Non-Livestock Judging on Friday, July 18th, however the Fairgrounds will be closed to the public all day Friday.

Saturday will include judging of various fair entries, with the Primghar Jaycees Auto Races beginning at 7:00 pm.

Sunday, July 20th will feature a performance by The Browns, beginning at 7:00 pm.

On Monday, July 21st, the Food Court and Commercial Buildings will be open at 10:00 am, with the Petting Zoo opening at that time, as well. There will also be strolling acts around the fairgrounds. Brent Allan Entertainment will appear at 2:00 o’clock Monday afternoon. They’ll also have Face Painting from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, with the Bill Reilly Talent Search at 6:00 pm, followed by the 4-H Hall of Fame & Value Added Ag Award at 7:50, and the Fair Royalty Coronation at 8:00.

Tuesday at the O’Brien County Fair begins with the O’Brien County 4-H Foundation Pancake Breakfast that will be served from 7:00 until 10:00 am. The Spelling Bee starts at 10:00 am, with Brent Allan Entertainment at 2:00, the Honey Creek Rodeo at 3:00, Face Painting from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, the Kids’ Pedal Tractor Pull starts at 5:30, followed by the Honey Creek Rodeo at 7:00.

Wednesday, July 23rd, shows a full calendar of events at the 2025 O’Brien County Fair. The Commercial Building and the Petting Zoo both open at 10:00 Wednesday morning. Traditional Cinnamon Roll Contest Registration will be held from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm, with the actual contest starting at 1:00 pm. Brent Allan Entertainment appears at 2:00, with the Farm Bureau Watermelon Feed from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, ATV Races at 6:00, with the Primghar Jaycees Auto Races starting at 7:30, and the fireworks show to follow.

Thursday’s activities will consist of Awards and Announcements, as well as the Livestock & Ribbon Auction.
