At their board meeting this Tuesday, June 7th, they approved the appointment of Anthony Untiedt as the O’Brien County Information Technology Director effective Monday, June 13, 2016 at an annual salary of $70,000 per year, with a 3-month review.
At an O’Brien County Board of Supervisors meeting on May 10th, former O’Brien County Information Technology director Sean Lane requested the meeting go into closed session for his employment evaluation. After the discussion, the Board of Supervisors unanimously voted to place Lane on paid leave until Tuesday, May 17, 2016.

At the next week’s meeting on Tuesday, May 17th, Lane gave his resignation, which was approved by the board. Lane was offered a severance agreement, which, according to public records, included all wages, accrued vacation leave and compensation time. It also included insurance through June 30th and COBRA after that time if Lane does not secure other employment. The agreement says the county will give Lane a neutral letter of recommendation and will not resist any application for unemployment benefits.

Due to employee confidentiality, County Attorney Micah Schreurs declined further comment.
