Okoboji Bar Charged With Violating COVID Restrictions

Okoboji, Iowa — An Okoboji bar is one of the latest five in the state charged with violating Governor Reynolds’ COVID-19 disaster proclamation requirements.

The Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division has filed complaints against the Barefoot Bar at Okoboji, as well as bars in Newton, Des Moines, Polk City and Eagle Grove.

IABD announced the first six charges against bars earlier in the week. Those charged can agree to a $1,000 fine — or ask for a hearing from an administrative law judge.

The charges include things like failing to keep proper social distancing between customers.
