One Position Filled, One To Go

Sheldon PD Car 2Sheldon, Iowa — The City of Sheldon has hired an employee to fill one of two full-time positions with the City.

Sheldon City Manager Scott Wynja says Jett Korver of Sheldon has been hired as a Patrolman with the Sheldon Police Department.  The Sheldon native will be formally sworn in at the March 2nd Sheldon City Council meeting, and will begin his duties around that time, according to Wynja.  The Patrolman position became available when Officer David Lich left the Sheldon Police Department to accept a law enforcement position in another community last year.

The other position for which the City is seeking applicants is that of Community Development Director, a City position currently held by Curt Strouth.  Strouth will be leaving that job at the end of this month to accept a new position with Iowa State Bank in Sheldon.  Wynja says the search for Strouth’s replacement is underway, and that the City is in the process of advertising the position to potential job seekers.
