Hawarden, Iowa – One man was take to the hospital after a motor vehicle accident near Hawarden this past Friday.
According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s office 18-year-old Alejandro Villanuena was driving a 2005 Dodge 2500 northbound on Highway 12 when he lost control of the vehicle and entered the west ditch.
Villanuena was transported by the Hawarden Ambulance to Hawarden Regional Healthcare for treatment of minor injuries. The Dodge sustained an estimated $5,000 in damage.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Hawarden Fire Department and Hawarden Ambulance.
Villanuena was cited for failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle.
