Orange City Tulip Festival’s ArtBurst to Feature Multiple Artists

Orange City, Iowa — Twenty-three artists from six states will exhibit and sell their work at ArtBurst May 16 and 17 as part of the annual Orange City Tulip Festival. ArtBurst will take place on the grounds of the historic Sioux County Courthouse from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday. Admission is free to the public. The show will include paintings, jewelry, ceramics, mixed media, metalwork, photography, woodwork, and textiles and fibers. A complete listing of artists is available at octulipfestival.com/artburst.

“I’m excited for people to see the talent that will be on display and to find the perfect piece for their home, office or garden,” says Anita Cirulis, chair of the ArtBurst committee. “We have five new artists—including an Orange City artist originally from Ukraine—and there’s a wide variety of artwork that will be available to enjoy and purchase.”

ArtBurst is a juried exhibition, with best-of-show cash prizes awarded for both two-dimensional and three-dimensional work. Serving as this year’s juror is Amy Williams of Orange City. Williams is an instructor of art and design at Northwestern College who earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from California State University–Long Beach and a post-baccalaureate certificate in ceramics from Oregon College of Art and Craft. Her art has been featured in group and solo exhibitions in California and Oregon, as well as accepted into juried exhibitions in 11 states.
