Orange City’s Landsmeer Ridge Retirement Community Will Be Expanded

Orange City, Iowa — Landsmeer Ridge Retirement Community in Orange City is about to undergo a renovation and expansion.

Marty Guthmiller, CEO of Orange City Area Health System, explains the project.

Guthmiller says there had been public hearings for funding.

Guthmiller says on Monday, May 15th, the Orange City council approved up to $10 million in hospital revenue bonds. He says because the hospital will pay with revenues there didn’t need to be a vote. If the taxpayers would have had to pay for it through taxes then there would have been a vote, but that isn’t the case for this project. Guthmiller says Schelling Construction out of Sioux Center will be working on the project and he is hopeful it will begin in mid-June.
