Osceola Sheriff’s Staff Throw Surprise Party For The Boss

Sibley, Iowa — Osceola County Sheriff Doug Weber was very surprised Monday afternoon when his staff successfully pulled off a surprise coffee in honor of his 40-years of service to the people of Osceola County.

Weber has been the Osceola County Sheriff since 2005, before that working as a deputy under former Sheriff Bob Rolfes, which he says began in April, 1979. We asked Sheriff Weber about some of the changes he’s seen in his 40-years with the Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Weber spoke highly of the staff at the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.

Fairly early in his career, Deputy Weber met and fell in love with his boss, Bob Rolfes’ daughter, Patsy. They were married in 1982.

Sheriff Weber’s current term of office expires at the end of next year, and he says he does not plan to seek reelection.  He’ll be 65 when the term expires, and he says it’ll be time to pursue some of his hobbies
