Sioux Center, Iowa — Kids and adults from the area are getting a chance to try something new this week.
This coming Thursday, June 6th, will be the annual Outdoor Skills Day, sponsored in-part by Sioux County Conservation. Their naturalist, Sunday Ford, tells us about it.
She says they have some history lessons planned too.
She says the event is free, but it might be full when you try to register. She says if that’s the case, you should pick the waiting list option. If you’re not able to go this year, she says it might be something to watch for next year. She says they open up registration in the early spring because it’s been a popular event.
Preregister at www.mycountyparks.com It’s for all ages, and runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Thursday at Sandy Hollow near Sioux Center. If your child is 8 or under, an adult needs to accompany them.
You can call the Conservation Board’s Environmental Education Department at 712-552-3057 if you have any questions.
