Partial Procedural Schedule Set By Iowa Utilities Board for Proposed Summit Carbon CO2 Pipeline

Des Moines, Iowa — The Iowa Utilities Board has set a partial procedural schedule for the proposed Summit Carbon CO2 Pipeline for conferences in June and July to talk about options to expand access for public participation.

These conferences are to assist landowners affected by the proposed pipeline and to focus on efficient hearing logistics.

During the Tuesday, June 6th conference IUB asks that parties in docket number HLP-2021-0001 discuss having impartial, third-party mediators to help landowners with the easement process; the use of presiding officers to give testimony and evidence from landowners subject to eminent domain; and the satellite locations allowing for remote participation in or viewing the public hearing from places closer to the homes and businesses that will be affected by the proposed pipeline. This conference will begin right after the IUB’s public Board meeting, which will begin at 9 a.m.

Another conference is scheduled for Monday, July 10th that will follow the monthly public Board meeting.

Summit Carbon filed its petition to construct, operate, and maintain a proposed CO2 pipeline that is 687 miles of six- to 24-inch diameter pipe on January 28, 2022.
