Lake Park, Iowa — Road construction continues on Highway 9 from the Dickinson/Osceola County line to Vick’s Corner. Sarah Tracy, a transportation planner with the Iowa Department of Transportation’s District 3 Office in Sioux City, says weather permitting, paving will be starting this Monday, July 28th.
She reminds motorists they will need to take a detour, adding they’ve been having issues with some people who think the road is still open to through traffic.
Tracy says the project is scheduled for completion in October.
Tracy says they realize the inconvenience of the road closure and that they appreciate everyone’s patience.
***NOTE: The marked detour route uses Osceola County road M18 (White Avenue) near Harris to A34 (220th Street), 213th Avenue (on the edge of Milford), and Highway 86 up to Vick’s Corner to head eastbound.
The detour route will change in mid-August to Osceola County road M18, A34, M34, A22, and Highway 86 up to Vick’s Corner.
