Sheldon, Iowa — Last week there were Black Lives Matter protest marches in Spencer and Le Mars, and this week there is one planned for Sheldon.
Sheldon City Manager Sam Kooiker says the City was approached by a local group seeking to hold a peaceful protest march this coming Saturday, June 13th. Kooiker says the group isn’t affiliated with any national group, and they simply want to make residents aware of racial issues. Kooiker says law enforcement will be on hand to make sure everyone has a safe experience.
The marchers will meet in the parking lot on the west side of the Sheldon Community Services Center, and will then proceed from there, up the sidewalk on the east side of 4th Avenue, ending at the City Park. It’s scheduled to begin Saturday afternoon at 5:00.
