Pella Foundation Gives $15,000 For Surgical Center Remodeling At Hospital In Orange City

Orange City, Iowa — Officials with Orange City Area Health System tell us that they have received what they call a “generous” gift toward their surgery center remodeling project.

Officials tell us the $15,000 gift is from the Pella Rolscreen Foundation. They say the investment will help expand their surgical suite by adding a new operating room and procedural space, increasing capacity and improving access to safe, high-quality care for patients throughout the region.

Orange City Area Health System officials say the project is a critical step in meeting growing surgical demand and ensuring rural communities have timely access to advanced medical services close to home. The health system serves patients from 11 counties in Northwest Iowa, as well as Nebraska and South Dakota.

In addition to expanding the health system’s surgery center, the remodel includes relocating cardiac rehab services, creating an inpatient physical therapy space, constructing a new conference room for education, and creating a nursing mothers’ room for staff and visitors. The remodel also supports the addition of new, state-of-the art technology and advanced surgical robotic systems, including the da Vinci 5.

The project is expected to be completed by May 2026.
