Peoples Bank, Three Other Area Businesses Named Top Workplaces

Northwest Iowa — Four northwest Iowa businesses have been recognized as good places to work in a list put together by the Des Moines Register.

The Top Workplaces 2019 list is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by research partner Energage, LLC, a leading provider of technology-based employee engagement tools. The anonymous survey measures several aspects of workplace culture, including alignment, execution, and connection, just to name a few.

Included in the list was Rock Valley-based People’s Bank, which has roots in Lester and locations in those towns, plus Sheldon, Sioux Center, Hawarden, Akron, Hinton, and Sioux City in Iowa, plus Jasper, Minnesota.

Also on the list was Revival Animal Health of Orange City, Sioux Center Health, and Rock Rapids-based DGR Engineering.

Doug Claffey, who is the CEO of Energage says that Top Workplaces is more than just recognition. He says that their research shows organizations that earn the award attract better talent, experience lower turnover, and are better equipped to deliver bottom-line results. He says their leaders prioritize and carefully craft a healthy workplace culture that supports employee engagement.

Peoples Bank CEO Al Vermeer says, “We can all make a living a thousand different places doing a million different things, but we choose to do so at Peoples Bank because we live out our values of honesty, integrity, respect, enriching, excellence and embracing change in all we do.”

Revival President Roy Nielsen says Revival is “…so lucky to have a team of passionate employees.” He says, “They not only delight our customers by helping their pets be healthier, they make up our Revival family and the culture we share. The fact that this award is given based on their feedback makes it a truly great honor.”

Cory Nelson, CEO of Sioux Center Health says that Sioux Center Health may serve a rural area, but, “…we are definitely not small. We are highly skilled and are making a profound impact on our community. Working with us means making a real difference in the lives of our community members. Your talents and your passions are truly appreciated here. In addition to the service we provide, Sioux Center Health also supports our community and region with sponsored programs and events and other volunteer work.”
