PERB Gives Tentative Approval To Sheldon Union Merger

Sheldon, Iowa — PERB, the Public Employment Relations Board, has given tentative approval to an agreement between the parties that affects two bargaining units of the City of Sheldon employees represented by AFSCME Council 61.

As a result of the agreement, the hearing scheduled on the proposed merger has been canceled. According to PERB, the new unit will include full and part-time employees in the street, cemetery, water, waste water, and police department, with the exception of certain employees in these departments.

If no union members file an objection by January 31st, the merger will be finalized by the Public Employee Relations Board.
