Sibley, Iowa — Plans continue to be finalized for the addition and remodeling of the Osceola County Jail in Sibley.
Last November a $5 million bond issue passed, giving the county funds to proceed with the project.
We talked to Osceola County Sheriff Kevin Wollmuth, who gives us an update.
He tells us a little about the project.
He tells us what’s going on now.;
Wollmuth tells us they hope to start with that in late spring or early summer. He says the walls will be pre-cast, so the project may have to wait until the walls are complete and delivered. Another aspect of the project will be some updates to the administration area to make it more ADA-compliant.
According to Wollmuth, due to a number of factors, they don’t have a projected completion date yet for the project.
