Sheldon, Iowa — Seventeen high school marching bands will be performing Wednesday (October 11th) at Orab Field in Sheldon in the State Marching Band Festival. The festival had been scheduled for this past Saturday, but was postponed due to poor field conditions following last week’s heavy rains.
Cliff St. Clair is the Director of the Sheldon Marching Orabs, who are hosting Wednesday’s festival, and he says ALMOST all of the bands that were scheduled to be here this past weekend should be performing Wednesday.
After we talked with St. Clair on Tuesday, he learned that the Sioux City West marching band was withdrawing from Wednesday’s festival.
St. Clair says the festival will get underway when the first band hits the field at 4:00 pm.
He says the Sheldon Marching Orabs will be the first band to perform following the dinner break.
