Sheldon, Iowa — Over 650 power customers of MidAmerican Energy experienced a power outage on Friday afternoon.
We talked to MidAmerican Energy spokesperson Geoff Greenwood, and he tells us about it.
Greenwood says the outage affected mostly northwestern Sheldon customers, with some customers in the rural area experiencing an outage as well. He says as of mid-afternoon on Friday, they were still working on replacing the pole.
The location that was given for the pole — Pine Street and Second Avenue — is along old Highway 60 near the Super 8 Hotel.

Sheldon, Iowa — Power has been restored in Sheldon. The lights came back on at KIWA at about 1:15 pm.
All of the KIWA stations, AM-1550, FM-100.7 and FM-105.3 have returned to the air as of approximately 1:55 pm.

Sheldon, Iowa — As of 1:00 p.m., 666 MidAmerican Energy customers on the Sheldon area were experiencing a power outage. That includes KIWA Radio.
It is expected but not confirmed that the outage is related to a power pole down near the Super 8 Hotel.
