Projects That Would Benefit Sheldon Advised To Apply For Hotel/Motel Tax Grant

Sheldon, Iowa — After a hiatus, Sheldon’s Hotel/Motel Tax Grants are back.

Heidi Brown, with Sheldon’s Marketing Committee tells us more.

She tells us what kind of questions are on the application.

Marketing Committee members tell us that applications that do not list additional or alternate sources of funding may be given lower priority than other applications submitted.

She tells us how the program works.

Brown says some of the projects to which they have given grants include disc golf at Hills Park, lighting replacement projects at the Sheldon Museum and the Prairie Arts Historical Park, the moving of the Baker Township School to the Prairie Arts Historical Park, pickleball court construction, trail signs, the rest areas along the Rec Trails, website redesign for the SCDC, scoreboards at the Sheldon Sports Complex, yard line markers for the Little Orabs, ADA swings at City Park, concrete pads for the disc golf tees at Hills Park, some Eagle Scout projects, window replacements at the Union Depot, and many other projects.
