Psychiatric Facility For Teens Nearing Completion

Sioux City, Iowa — A new facility to help young people suffering from psychiatric illnesses and/or caught in the cycle of addiction is nearing completion in Sioux City.

Jackson Recovery Center’s new facility is is slated to open May 1st. The facility will be the first of its kind in Iowa for children suffering from psychiatric illnesses and/or struggling with substance abuse problems.

Ground was broken for the facility in August 2013. It will have 72 inpatient beds and a 12-bed psychiatric crisis and stabilization unit.

The facility will serve children ages 12 to 18.
