Public Invited To Meeting Monday About Expanding Work-Based Learning For Sheldon Students

Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon Center for Advanced Professional Studies or “CAPS” at Sheldon High School is inviting people to come and learn how the Sheldon School District is expanding work-based learning for students.

A Sheldon Schools and Community partnership Informational Meeting is scheduled for this Monday, August 7, 2023 from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. in the Sheldon Community Services Center lower level at 416 9th Street.

Organizers tell us that at this event you can learn about the Iowa Work-Based Learning Model. They say this model provides a range of ways to get involved with work-based learning, from tours and guest speaking to mentoring and apprenticeships. They say their internship program kicked off last year and their CAPS program is entering its third year.

For more information you can contact Cindy Prewitt, the Instructional Coach and CAPS Instructor or Amanda De Groot, the Business Teacher and Work-Based Learning Coordinator.
