Reps From Area Cities Lobby Des Moines For $ For Lewis & Clark Project

Lewis&ClarkNorthwest Iowa — A contingent of representatives from the northwest Iowa communities that are members of the Lewis & Clark Water Project visited legislators in Des Moines Wednesday to lobby in favor of state funding to help continue the pipeline into the state of Iowa.

One member of the northwest Iowa contingent, Sibley City Manager Glenn Anderson, told KIWA that he thought the group’s series of meetings in the state capital were very positive.

Anderson tells us the group met with other legislators, as well.

He tells us about the group’s meeting with Governor Terry Branstad and Lt. Governor Kim Reynolds.

Anderson tells us about the reason for the group’s trip to Des Moines.

Anderson says that Representative Huseman invited the group back to the capital to make a presentation to a house subcommittee on February 1st.

Sheldon is also a member city of the Lewis & Clark project, but Sheldon City Manager Sean Hutchison was unable to accompany the group to Des Moines, due to some major issues that were on the agenda for Sheldon’s City Council meeting Wednesday evening.  Hutchison tells KIWA he hopes to be able to attend the subcommittee presentation February 1st.
