Sheldon, Iowa — The ribbon was cut Friday morning on a new coffee emporium in Sheldon.
Scooter’s opened for business at the end of December, on the northeast corner of the Highway 18 and Country Club Road intersection, just to the west of Fareway.
Trevor Gottula is President of the Sheldon Chamber & Development Corporation, and he took the opportunity of the ribbon cutting to congratulate Scooter’s on opening their Sheldon location.
Speaking on behalf of the City of Sheldon was Mayor Greg Geels.
Skip Tanner is President of the Sheldon Ambassadors, and he presented Scooter’s owners Jay and Kim Van Dyken with a plaque commemorating their ribbon cutting.
Jay Van Dyken says the Sheldon location of Scooter’s is the first one he and his wife have owned, but he says they do have plans in the works for six additional locations.
Scooter’s is open Monday through Friday from 5:30 am to 8:00 pm, and weekends from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm.
