Sioux Center, Iowa — A behavioral health center headquartered in Spencer and serving northwest Iowans in our area has scheduled the opening of a new facility in Sioux Center.

Seasons Center for Behavioral Health will host a ribbon-cutting and open house on Friday, March 11, 2022 to officially announce the opening of the Family Support Center, located at 147 South Main Avenue in Sioux Center.

Seasons Center’s Marketing & Events Coordinator, Stephanie Pohar, says that the Sioux Center Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting will be at 11:30 a.m. with the open house from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. Both events are open to the public.

She tells us the Family Support Center focuses on foster and adoptive youth and their families, with a focus on infants and young children. It offers increased access to specialized services for foster and adoptive families, improved mental and behavioral health and well-being, increased access to prevention and early intervention services, and enhanced access to community services and supports.

The Project Director for the the Family Support Center, Taneil Johnson says that the center is a place for families to come for both formal services as well as to connect with others, check out resources and attend support groups in a family-friendly environment that is open and inclusive to all yet respectful of the diverse and unique families that Seasons serves. Johnson says, “We want to ensure foster and adoptive children and their families have access to appropriate treatment; and that agencies and professionals have the resources and supports needed to provide high-quality foster/adoptive services.”
