Ribbon Set For Cutting During NCC’s Days Of Thunder

Sheldon, Iowa — Osceola Hall — the new residence hall at Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon is complete, and even has students living in it. This week Friday, the college and community will participate in a ribbon cutting as one of the features of Days of Thunder — the annual homecoming celebration at NCC.

Nicole Steele, NCC’s Coordinator of Residence Life and Student Activities tells us what’s planned.

She gives us a few details about what makes Osceola Hall unique, starting with the living arrangement in which each of four students in each unit gets his or her own bedroom.

Steele says the room will also have big screens to which students can connect their own consoles as well.

She says Friday’s ribbon cutting will start with a reception at 9:30 and the ribbon cutting at 10:00 a.m., as part of the Days of Thunder homecoming celebration, which in past years had been held in late October. She tells us why the dates were changed.

She gives us an idea of some of the activities in which students will be able to participate.
