Rock Rapids Man Changes Plea In Sex Abuse Case To Guilty As Part Of Plea Bargain

Rock Rapids, Iowa — A Rock Rapids man charged with drug, sex abuse, and incest charges has changed his plea to guilty as part of a plea bargain.

According to a criminal complaint filed with the Lyon County Clerk of Court’s Office by the county sheriff’s office, 38-year-old David Warren Jr. of Rock Rapids is accused of having sexual contact with a member of his family and also providing marijuana to this person, who was a minor.

Warren was originally charged with drug distribution to a person under the age of 18, a class B felony; three counts of third-degree sexual abuse, a class C felony; and three counts of incest, a class D felony.

If convicted of a class B felony, Warren could have faced up to 25 years in prison, with 10 years on a class C charge and five years on a class D charge, if convicted.

He has now pleaded guilty to two counts of incest, which are class D felonies, and one misdemeanor count of first-degree harassment.

According to court documents, no sentencing date has yet been set.
