Rock Rapids Woman Receives Suspended Jail Sentence, Probation Per Plea Agreement

Rock Rapids, Iowa — A Rock Rapids woman who was originally charged with two felonies has pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor in a plea agreement.

Court records indicate 46-year-old Mandy Lynn Davis of Rock Rapids was originally accused of assault on an officer and interference with official acts after the officer says she resisted arrest and helped three juveniles flee as well in May of 2022.

According to court records, the assault on an officer charge was dismissed and the felony interference with official acts charge was reduced to a misdemeanor charge of obstructing prosecution or defense.

Davis was sentenced to one year in jail, with all time suspended, an $855 fine, and two years of probation.
