Rock Valley Hospital Construction Continues

Hegg Artist Rendering 2017Rock Valley, Iowa — Rock Valley’s hospital is turning fifty years old this year. And while there are 50th-anniversary activities planned this summer, the hospital itself will be getting an anniversary present.

Workers are in the midst of a construction and renovation project at Hegg Memorial Hospital, according to CEO and Administrator Glenn Zevenbergen. He tells us what the project entails.

He tells us about the renovation project.

Zevenbergen says that while the 50-year-old facility looks great on the outside, it’s beginning to show its age, and that’s one of the reasons the hospital board decided on this project.

He says they hope to be finished with the project by early 2018. He says the outside is about done, the interior walls are coming up, and the parking lot and helipad should be done by early summer. He says that will probably be visible from Highway 18.

He tells us about the financing.

He says the estimated cost of the whole project is $28.6 million.
