Rock Valley Principal Finalist For Statewide Award

Rock Valley, Iowa — A northwest Iowa school administrator was a finalist in a statewide award.

Nicole Roder, High School Principal in the Rock Valley Community School District, was a finalist for the 2024 Iowa Secondary Principal of the Year award sponsored by the School Administrators of Iowa (SAI).

Her nomination says Roder and others in the community worked diligently to pass a bond to build a new high school and is always expressing how proud she is for the hard work her students and staff put in every day.

We are told she is a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa and received her master’s degree from Viterbo University. She has been a principal at Rock Valley Schools since the fall of 2009.

Nominated for the award by her peers, Roder will be recognized by the association at its Annual Conference in August 2024, along with Vinton-Shellsburg High School Principal Matt Kingsbury who was recently selected as the recipient.

SAI, a statewide organization founded in 1987, represents more than 2,000 Iowa educational administrators. SAI’s mission is to support, encourage, and develop Iowa’s educational leaders and learners.
