Rock Valley, Iowa — The summer festivals continue in northwest Iowa. Now it’s Rock Valley’s turn.
“Rally in the Valley” got underway on Wednesday afternoon in the northwestern Sioux County town with a farmers market, a burger feed, the Little Miss Rock Valley Pageant, and Heartbeats & Happy Feet Dance.
This Thursday, there’s a community meal, a flag retirement ceremony, and it will be Drive-In Movie Night, featuring Big Hero 6.
On Friday, there’s a Chamber Golf Tournament, it’s Dollar Swim Day with a movie from 1 to 7 p.m. A Cruise Night is planned for Friday night, with the RV Clay Crushers Soft Serve Ice Cream Stand.
Saturday is the big day, featuring a pancake feed, a car show, the First CRC Burger Feed, a food fundraiser, a parade, Kiwanis Duck Races, a family fun day with inflatables and Mr. Twister, a dunk tank fundraiser for the Nighthawk football program, a merchandise shoot and Annie Oakley contest, the Fall Fun Series Kick-Off Event, Koldy’s Turtle Races, Koldy’s Rib Competition, and Koldy’s Street Dance.
The activities will wrap up on Sunday with Community Worship in the Park at Bicentennial Park, featuring the Valley Male Chorus.
