Sheldon, Iowa — Despite this weekend’s heat and humidity, RiseFest 2018 brought thousands of people to Sheldon to share in the Christian music festival.
Rob Roozeboom is Founder and President of Rise Ministries, the parent organization of RiseFest, and he tells us RiseFest 2018 saw the biggest crowds in the festival’s history. Roozeboom says 75-hundred people attended the festival on Friday, with 9-thousand people passing through the RiseFest gates on Saturday.
The biggest problem for this year’s attendees was the high heat. Roozeboom says they decided on a rules change for Saturday to help attendees battle the effects of the heat.
He says they came up with the plan for Saturday with the thought in mind of protecting both attendees and vendors.
Roozeboom says RiseFest staff and volunteers took steps to help keep the crowd cooled, as well.
He called RiseFest 2018 “something special.”
RiseFest is a Christian music festival that takes place each year on Father’s Day weekend, and is held on the RiseFest Grounds, which are located just north of Highway 18 on Country Club Road.
