Sanborn Ambulance Down To ONE EMT, Looking For Help

Sanborn, Iowa — One of the issues plaguing small towns is again rearing its ugly head in Sanborn — not enough EMTs or people to drive the ambulance.

In Sanborn, the Sanborn Ambulance Service at this time is literally down to ONE EMT. That’s Sanborn Ambulance Director Kaitlin Kribell.

She tells us they have found the best work-around possible. For now.

And she says she is very grateful to the SCAT members and the members of all the other services that have aided the Sanborn Ambulance Service during this time. She says, “We really appreciate all their work and patience.”

Kribell tells us what to do if you would like to help out.

She tells us they are especially inviting nurses to join them. She says nurses don’t have to take all the training to be an EMT. She estimated the training for registered nurses at about four hours. Kribell tells us that anyone who wants to join them would be welcome, and the City of Sanborn will pay for any training if they decide to join the ambulance crew as an EMT or a driver.
