Sanborn, Iowa — Early last year we told you about an expansion and renovation project being planned by the Sanborn Christian School. That project has now been completed, and the students have moved into the new addition, and newly renovated spaces.
Sanborn Christian School Principal Anthony Minderhoud tells KIWA that the construction project took just under a year to complete.
Minderhoud describes the changes brought by the project.
Unlike public schools, private schools like Sanborn Christian receive no tax dollars for construction projects like the one just completed. Minderhoud says Sanborn Christian School has been very blessed by the generosity of the donors who made the $3-million project possible.
Completion of the construction/renovation project has effectively doubled the school’s footprint, according to Minderhoud. Sanborn Christian School is a Preschool through 8th Grade facility with an enrollment of 103 this school year. Minderhout says he expects that enrollment level to be fairly constant for next year.
