Sheldon, Iowa — Patients can now get faster and more accurate results about their breast health, thanks to some new technology that has been installed at Sanford Sheldon Medical Center.
Joell Walgenbach in the radiology department at Sanford Sheldon tells us about their brand new 3D mammography machine.
She says the new technology will take the place of the traditional 2D scans that they have done in the past.
Walgenbach tells us that most insurance does pay for 3D mammograms.
She says that unlike in some places, where the mammography equipment comes on a truck a few times a month, this new 3D unit is permanently installed at Sanford Sheldon and is available now. She says you can call 712-324-6222 to set up your appointment.
