Sheldon, Iowa — Those attending the Sheldon Chamber and Development Corporation luncheon Tuesday heard from a cyber-security expert about some of the lengths to which hackers will go to steal your information.
James Bierly of Access Systems told the group that smart appliances can be an easy way for a bad guy to access your home or business network.
Bierly talked about the vulnerability of Windows 7 computers and the fact that they will become even more vulnerable early next year.
Bierly talked about various ways your information, including your passwords, and anything else on your network, can be stolen. He says the one most important things you can do to protect your information from being stolen comes down to your passwords.
Tuesday’s SCDC luncheon was held at the Crossroads Pavilion Event Center.
