SCDC Presents “Dress Up Fridays” During Christmas Season

Sheldon, Iowa — In order to add a little fun to this year’s Christmas season, the Sheldon Chamber and Development Corporation has declared each Friday from now until Christmas as “Dress Up Friday.”

Sheldon Chamber Director Shantel Oostra talks about this Friday’s theme for “Dress Up Friday.”

(As above) “We thought, ‘Why not have a little bit of fun on Fridays throughout the holiday season?’ So this week Friday, November 27, will be our first day and we are asking everyone to dress in flannel for Flannel Friday. That can be your favorite flannel shirt, maybe your favorite flannel pajamas, whatever it might be, you can dress up in flannel.”

Oostra says there will be a different theme for each “Dress Up Friday.”

(As above) “Friday, December 4, we have, ‘Don We Now Our Red Apparel,’  asking everyone to just dress in their favorite Christmas red. December 11 is, ‘It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas Attire,’ and that can be whatever you want it to be. Your favorite t-shirt for Christmas, or dress yourself up in any holiday attire you might have. Friday, December 18 is, ‘May Your Sweaters Be Ugly And Bright.’ So we’re asking everyone to wear their favorite ugly sweater on Friday, December 18th.”

She says you should take a photo of yourself in each week’s theme attire and share it with the world, through SCDC’s social media.

(As above) “What we’ll do is have a post on our Facebook page where everyone can share their photos, just to do something fun for the holiday season.”

Remember, “Dress Up Fridays begin this Friday, Black Friday, November 27th and continue each Friday until Christmas.
