School Board To Meet In Regular Session Tonight

Sheldon, Iowa — The Board of Education of the Sheldon Community School District will meet in regular session tonight (Monday, November 12th) in the high school library.

Among the items on the agenda is an update on the District’s 2018-19 enrollment. Meyer is also expected to bring the Board up to date on an exploration of soccer as an additional extra-curricular activity. The Sheldon District and the Sibley-Ocheyedan District are in discussions about sharing soccer, with Sheldon being the home school.

In other business, the auditorium floor is in need of repair. Activities Director Eric Maassen has been investigating options, and will report his findings to the Board at tonight’s meeting.

The proposed 2018-19 District Calendar will be on the agenda at tonight’s meeting. The tentative calendar has the first day of classes set for August 23rd, and the last day of classes scheduled for May 28th. Commencement is tentatively scheduled for May 24th. The Board will discuss the calendar at tonight’s meeting.

In addition, the Board is expected to approve five Open Enrollment Applications, on Employee Resignation, and two Employee Contracts.

The final item on the agenda is a Closed Session for the purpose of a Superintendent Performance Conference.

Tonight’s Sheldon School Board meeting will get underway at 5:00 in the high school library.
