Selected Sheldon Streets To Be Chip Sealed Wednesday Through Friday

Sheldon, Iowa — Some of Sheldon’s streets will last longer, but in order to improve their length of service, there are some minor inconveniences to be put up with.

Sheldon Public Works Director Todd Uhl tells us that crews will be chip sealing several city asphalt streets starting this Wednesday, August 16th. The work will continue through Friday, weather permitting.

Uhl says city officials are asking people not to park on these streets until the chip sealing projects are complete. They also ask that motorists avoid traveling on these roads while crews are working if possible.

Several segments of streets will be chip sealed:

· N 2nd Ave from Highway 18 to the water plant
· N 5th Ave from the water plant south to the new concrete
· N 7th Ave from Highway 18 to Oak St
· Oak St from N 6th Ave to N 7th Ave
· W 7th St from Western Ave to Pleasant Drive
· W 8th St from Western Ave to Railroad Ave
· W 9th St from Western Ave to AGP
· 2nd Ave from the RR tracks south to Van Wyk trucking
· S 3rd Ave from the RR tracks to 16th St
