Sioux Center, Iowa — A sex abuse investigation has led to an arrest in Sioux County.
On Saturday morning the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office arrested 18-year-old Darren Nicholson, of Sioux Center. According to information released by the Sioux County Sheriffs Office, the arrest stemmed from an investigation that began earlier this year following a report of a sexual assault. Upon further investigation, deputies discovered that Nicholson allegedly had intermittent sexual contact with a female child-victim since 2017.
Nicholson was charged with second degree sexual assault and third degree sexual assault and placed in the Sioux County Jail.
