Sheldon, Iowa — After fourteen months in Sheldon, the Sheldon Bakery is going out of business.
According to Kathy Mulder of Orange City, who owns the bakery with her husband Loren, the bakery will be closing this Saturday, October 28th. Mulder cited the lack of foot traffic at the bakery as the reason for the closing.
The Mulders, who own Orange City’s Dutch Bakery renovated space formerly owned and operated by the Prairie Queen Bakery, which went out of business in April of 2016. By July of that year, the Mulders had announced they would be opening a Sheldon location of the Orange City bakery.
Again, the bakery will be going out of business this Saturday, October 28th.
