Sheldon, Iowa — After taking Friday off, Sheldon Celebration Days will begin in earnest Saturday, with various activities and attractions on the schedule.
At 1:30 Saturday afternoon there will be a Mini Rod Tractor Pull at the Sheldon Horse Arena, which is located a mile north of Casey’s East, on Washington Avenue. This is a free event, but you’re asked to bring your own lawn chairs.
Beginning at 4:00 Saturday afternoon will be a new feature for Celebration Days, a Bean Bag Tournament at the City Park. This is a family-friendly event to raise funds for the American Cancer Society.
From 5:00 until 8:00 Saturday evening will be another new event, Fun Night In The Park! You’ll enjoy live music by Thistle & Lace, along with interactive games for the whole family, including Jenga, Yard Dominoes, Frisbee Toss, Human Ring Toss, and more! You can also help raise funds for the Sheldon Community Ambulance Team by taking advantage of their $5 fundraiser meal Saturday night.
The second night performance of the Jay Shelp Community Theatre production of The Addams Family Musical, will take place Saturday evening, with the curtain rising at 7:30 in the High School Auditorium. Tickets will be available at the door.
