Sheldon City Council To Discuss Budget, TIF For Maintainer Project

Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon City Council will meet in regular session this Wednesday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Sheldon Community Services Center.

The meeting will start with a public hearing on the fiscal year 2024-2025 budget, and then a resolution approving or denying the budget.

On their consent agenda, if it should be approved as-is, are minutes of previous meetings; the claims list; the acceptance of some financial reports; the approval of a SCAT applicant; resolutions approving a RIDES transportation services agreement, an agreement with Mid-Sioux Opportunity; an agreement with Upper Des Moines Opportunity and an agreement with Family Crisis Centers, all for the upcoming fiscal year; a resolution approving allocation to O’Brien County Economic Development, a resolution authorizing advancement of costs for urban renewal project for reconstruction of Oak Street, and a resolution setting the date and time for consideration of rezoning an Arerial Commercial property to Suburban Residential. Unless a council member requests to pull any of the items out of the consent agenda to vote on separately, all these things will be approved with one motion.

In new business, the council will set a hearing on the TIF application for Maintainer’s expansion.

Again, the meeting will begin at 4:30 p.m. this Wednesday afternoon in the Council Chambers at the Sheldon Community Services Center on 9th Street in downtown Sheldon.
