Sheldon City Council To Meet In Special Session On Monday

Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon City Council will meet in special session, for a couple of purposes on Monday afternoon, October 28.

In new business, the council will consider a resolution directing the acceptance of a proposal to purchase $3.7 million in general obligation capital loan notes for Western Avenue reconstruction. The dollar amount is subject to change.

The council may then go into closed session to continue to discuss the police chief vacancy. At last report, there were three finalists: Sheldon Police Officer and School Resource Officer Dan Crawley, Sheldon Police Sergeant and Acting Chief Eric Meinecke, and Patrick O’Donohoe of Tulare, California.

The meeting will begin at 4:30 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers at the Sheldon Community Services Center, south across 9th Street from KIWA Radio.
