Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon City Council will meet in regular session on Wednesday, September 3rd, 2025. The meeting is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers at the Sheldon Community Services Center, downtown.
On their consent agenda are the minutes for the previous meeting, the claims list, a pay application for the Western Avenue project, a request for a temporary road closure of 5th Avenue between 9th and 10th Streets on Thursday, October 9th for a Sheldon Fire Company open house, a task order amendment regarding the hydraulic model update, a temporary construction easment for the Western Avenue project, a resolution sponsoring a Sheldon Music Association grant application, two liquor license renewals, and two beer permit renewals. All the items will be voted on in one motion unless a council member requests an item be vote on separately.
In new business, the council will discuss the status of funded activities related to the upper story conversion project, wrap up some business related to the sale of the vacated 13th Avenue right-of-way, and hold the first readings of updates to code required by legislative and local changes.
They will also discuss an amendment to the urban renewal plan.
The council may go into closed session at the end of the regular meeting items to discuss the potential purchase or sale of real estate.
The meeting will be at 4:30 p.m. this Wednesday in the council chambers on the upper level of the Sheldon Community Services Center at 416 9th Street in Sheldon.
