Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon City Council will meet in regular session this Wedndesday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. in the council chambers at the Sheldon Community Services Center, across the street south of KIWA Radio.
The council is set to issue a celebratory proclamation for the 50th anniversary of Village Northwest Unlimited at the beginning of the meeting.
On the council’s consent agenda, which is set to be decided in a single vote, is the list of claims, financial reports, a new liquor license for Fore Seasons Swings, the resignation of police officer Dan Crawley, the mayor’s appointment of Jessica Hughes to the Library Board Of Trustees, a resolution approving wage adjustment for Street Superintendent Lyle Frohwein, a resolution approving application under the Consolidated Urban Revitalization plan, and a resolution approving the hiring of Ryer Dacken and Ryan Cuperus as full-time police officers.
In new business, the council will consider the repainting of the west elevated tank (that’s the west water tower). They will also discuss a possible update to the public records request policy. It’s expected that draft Local Option Sales Tax and Tax Increment Financing budgets for fiscal year 2026 will be introduced.
Again, the meeting will be this Wednesday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. in the council chambers at the Sheldon Community Services Center.
