Sheldon Council To Hold Several Public Hearings During Wednesday’s Meeting

Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon City Council will meet in regular session Wednesday afternoon, with a number of public hearings on their agenda.

One of the public hearings  concerns the Contract for Development and Minimum Assessment Agreement with Country View Construction for a parcel of land located south of the Highway 18 and 60 interchange. They’re also scheduled for a public hearing and 1st Reading of the Sheldon Code of Ordinances, as well as the Fiscal Year 2022-23 Budget Amendment.

The Council is also scheduled to take up a resolution approving the application for Voluntary Annexation of property located near the Highway 60 and Business 60 south interchange, as well as a public hearing on a requested zoning change for that same property.

In addition, the Council is expected to take up a resolution supporting a Workforce Housing Tax Credit Grant for a pair of properties in the downtown Sheldon business district.

Among the items on the Council’s ‘Consent Agenda’ for Wednesday’s meeting, is a request from the Sheldon Public Library to close off a portion of the Community Services Center west parking lot for the library’s annual Bike Rodeo, on Monday, June 5th.

Wednesday’s meeting will be called to order at 4:30 pm, in Council Chambers of the Sheldon Community Services Center. The meeting is open to the public, or you may watch online via YouTube Live.
