Sheldon Council To Meet Wednesday Noon

Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon City Council will hold their first June meeting this Wednesday, June 6th, at noon. 

During this meeting, the Crossroads Pavilion Board will reccomend that the Council hire the Pavilion Board’s choice for a new Assistant General Manager for the event center. The Council is also expected to approve the salary for that position at Wednesday’s meeting.

There are two public hearings on the agenda for this week’s City Council Meeting. Both are for the rezoning of several lots on South Third Avenue.  

In other business, the Council will hold a discussion on several parking concerns, including a two hour parking limit in the downtown district, with no overnight parking.  They will also discuss banning parking on East 6th Street in the area near the schools.  Other discussions will be held on employee safety training and filling the City Manager position which will be vacated when Sean Hutchison leaves at the end of the month. 

Again, please note that Wednesday’s Council meeting will begin at noon in the upper level of the Sheldon Community Services Center.

Sheldon Merry Money Sold Out

Sheldon, Iowa — Sheldon Merry Money is sold out for 2024. It had been sold all day Tuesday at the Crossroads
